From 12 to 15 October 2026, Cannes welcomes the people imagining much of the films, series, shows and formats the world will discover tomorrow. For four days, MIPCOM Cannes turns the Palais des Festivals into a global entertainment laboratory, with Netflix, YouTube, BBC Studios, Disney, Banijay, digital-native creators, producers, platforms and technology companies in attendance.
Among the announced personalities is Bela Bajaria, Netflix's chief content officer, who will receive the Variety Vanguard Award in Cannes before taking part in a conversation on the platform's international strategy and the future of streaming. A series created in South Korea, Spain, France or elsewhere can now be watched a few days later in dozens of countries: this international circulation of stories will be one of the major themes tracked during the market.
The programme is enriched by exclusive screenings, international series premieres and a global formats market. Targeted networking and professional matchmaking rank among the highlights: organised meetings, sector events and strategic introductions help turn projects into deals. Special attention goes to diversity and inclusion, with mentoring programmes, awards for socially impactful content and panels on equality and representation, reflecting the market's commitment to a more inclusive media landscape.
The creator economy at the heart of the debate
At the heart of the 2026 edition lies the creator economy, the complex dynamic between digital creators, brands, platforms, traditional media groups and production companies. How will we watch our programmes in a few years? Will vertical series take root on our phones? What will artificial intelligence really change in creation? Why do creators from YouTube now occupy a place as important as some historic studios? These are the questions the panels and screenings will explore over four days.
A trade-only market
Organised by RX France, MIPCOM remains a strictly professional event: producers, broadcasters, content buyers, brand executives and technology companies from more than 100 countries. Just before, on 10 and 11 October, MIP Junior will gather buyers and producers of children's programming. With its international series premieres, global formats market and coproduction meetings, MIPCOM confirms its status as the most anticipated week in the international audiovisual industry, and as a pillar of Cannes' autumn conference season.
